One of the (many) differences between Soleil and Charlie is in how their feathres look when wet. When Soleil bathes, she comes out looking drenched. For the next half-hour or more it is clear that she has just bathed, and she's still drying off. More than once we have rushed her upstairs for assistance with a hair dryer.

But when Charlie bathes, he never looks wet! He splashes around; we can see water running off his head, but his feathres never look wet. Perhaps he's part duck.

Is it partly because of their different ages? Soleil is still quite young: perhaps she doesn't keep her feathres as well-oiled as an adult conure would.
